NEW TOYOTA PLANT BEGINS PRODUCTION IN KYUSHU

The first Mark II passenger car rolled off the line today at Toyota's newest assembly plant in Fukuoka Prefecture on the southern island of Kyushu. This marks the first time Toyota has built a domestic car outside its home area of Aichi Prefecture in central Japan. The new plant is expected to help the company respond flexibly to market demand and reduce overall working hours.
