Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Assembly Begins in Russian Far East
Toyota City, Japan, February 18, 2013―Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announces that OOO Sollers-Bussan (Sollers-Bussan), a Russia-based vehicle-assembly company, has begun assembly of the Toyota-brand "Land Cruiser Prado" SUV at its plant in Vladivostok, Russia. Initial production capacity is approximately 1,000 vehicles a month.
TMC is supplying assembly components as well as maintaining a product-quality management support structure that includes quality control training and personnel support. Vehicles assembled by Sollers-Bussan are to be shipped mainly via the Trans-Siberian railway and sold through Toyota's dealer network in Russia.
With the start of Land Cruiser Prado assembly in Russia, TMC aims to better meet Russian consumer needs.
