Toyota Establishes Learning Center in Indonesia
Karawang, Indonesia, May 10, 2012―Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announces that PT. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN), TMC's vehicle production subsidiary in Indonesia, held a ceremony here today to commemorate the establishment of the TMMIN Learning Center, which will provide technical skills training for vehicle manufacturing.
This ceremony was attended by officials from the Indonesian government and representatives from Toyota, such as Indonesian vehicle sales company PT. Toyota Astra Motor President Johnny Darmawan, TMMIN President Masahiro Nonami and TMC Managing Officer Naoki Miyazaki. During the ceremony Nonami said: "Through the fostering of human resources, we plan to contribute to the ongoing growth of the economy and of communities in Indonesia."
The Learning Center will offer various types of courses and practical training with the goal of systematically transferring vehicle-manufacturing know-how to Indonesia. Starting next year, the Learning Center plans to provide opportunities for suppliers and students in the region to also participate in courses with the aim of fostering human resources able to contribute to furthering the development of the automobile industry in Indonesia.
Toyota will continue its efforts to manufacture cars that bring joy and exceed Indonesian consumer expectations, while also working to contribute to the building of better communities and societies.
