TPCA Plant in Czech Republic Marks Cumulative Production of 2 Million Units
PSA Peugeot Citroën and Toyota Motor Corporation announce that their joint-venture vehicle-production company in Kolín, Czech Republic, Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile (TPCA), held a ceremony today in Prague to mark TPCA's cumulative production of 2,000,000 vehicles.
TPCA was established in March 2002 and started production in February 2005. Producing the Peugeot 107, the Citroën C1 and the Toyota Aygo, TPCA took just seven years and one month to achieve the production milestone.
Attendees at the ceremony included Kolín City Mayor Vit Rakusan, CzechInvest Director for Investments Radek Šoltys, TPCA President Satoshi Tachihara and TPCA Executive Vice President Patrice Le Guyader. In his speech, Mr. Tachihara said: "I would like to thank all our stakeholders in the Czech Republic, including the government, local communities, our dealers, our suppliers, our employees, and last but certainly not least our customers for their strong support in leading us to this day. By bringing together all the continuous support and cooperation from our parent companies, TPCA aims to continue producing ever-better cars and contributing to the Czech Republic economy and to the Kolín region."
The two-millionth car, a Peugeot 107, was presented to Mr. Rakusan as an expression of TPCA's gratitude to the Czech community for its significant support.
