Toyota Vehicle Production Adjustments Due to Floods in Thailand

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) sends its sincerest condolences to all those affected by the recent catastrophic flooding in Thailand.

As of this time, the effect of the floods in Thailand on Toyota and Lexus production in and outside Japan is as follows.

Production in Japan

TMC has been adjusting production hours at its vehicle production plants in Japan since October 24. On November 11, TMC announced that vehicle-production plants in Japan will operate at near-normal levels, including overtime, from November 21 through November 25. Today, TMC announces an extension of this operation through December 2.

Production outside Japan

Operations at Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd.'s Samrong, Gateway and Ban Pho vehicle-production plants have been halted since October 10. However, as has been previously announced, from November 21 production at all three plants will restart. Operation levels after the restart will be based on an assessment of the parts-supply situation.

Vehicle-production plants in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and South Africa will adjust production levels from November 21 through November 26 based on an assessment of the parts-supply situation.

Production bases in North America, as has been announced, will operate at normal levels, including overtime, for the week beginning November 21. Today, this operation has been extended to include the week beginning November 28.

All production after the above dates will be based on an assessment of the situation in the respective location.

TMC apologizes for any inconvenience the ongoing production adjustments may cause.
