Lexus to Exhibit 'GS 350 F Sport' at SEMA Show in U.S.
Toyota City, Japan, October 26, 2011―Lexus is to exhibit a special racing-inspired version of the next-generation "GS 350", the "GS 350 F Sport", at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show to be held from November 1 through November 4 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, in Las Vegas, United States.
GS 350 F Sport (U.S.-market version)
The F Sport inherits the driving traits of the F-series, of which the LFA is the pinnacle, to help provide more power, agility and a sportier appearance. Including its mesh-type spindle grille*, the F Sport adopts unique designs for its interior and exterior equipment which signify the kind of cruising style only the F Sport can deliver. By maximizing the driving performance of the GS, the F Sport is representative of the exhilarating cruising style that embodies the next-generation of Lexus.
Vehicle Outline
The newly developed Lexus Dynamic Handling System (LDH) performs integrated control of Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS), Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS) and other elements to realize ideal vehicle slip angle to deliver outstanding cruising stability at high speeds, superb agility at medium speeds, and excellent maneuverability at low speeds.
Along with a dedicated suspension, the new F Sport has specially designed 19-inch wheels, with 18-inch ventilated disk brakes in the front (two-piece aluminum hat rotor). As well as high grip-strength, this set-up ensures excellent handling and brake performance.
The exterior is fitted with specially designed features including a front grille, bumper and rear spoiler, while the interior not only features dedicated seats, a leather steering wheel and shift knob, and an aluminum ornament panel, but also a dedicated interior color scheme of garnet and other shades. This design gives visual emphasis to the exhilarating cruising style of the F Sport and creates a unified and iconic image.
The GS 350 F-Sport is due to go on sale in Japan in early 2012.
*The signature spindle grille, with trapezoidal contours evolved from current Lexus styling, features the fusion of the Lexus-unique inverted trapezoidal upper grille and a trapezoidal lower grille with a functionally integrated brake-cooling duct. This distinctive new front represents the future direction of Lexus front-end design.
