Toyota to Conduct Autumn Traffic Safety Campaign

Tokyo ― TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC) announced today that, along with a total of 431 other companies, including vehicle dealers, logistics systems and forklift dealers, parts distributors and rental/lease dealers, it will conduct the autumn Toyota Traffic Safety Campaign from September 21 to October 31, in response to Japan's autumn Nationwide Traffic Safety Campaign (which runs from September 21 to 30).

This year's autumn campaign will develop activities centered on the main theme of "promoting the use of rear-seat seatbelts", given the fact that use of rear-seat seatbelts is significantly lower than use of front-seat seatbelts.

Specifically, the campaign will involve the distribution of approximately 770,000 copies of an educational leaflet, created in line with the main theme, to customers purchasing new vehicles or related products. Furthermore, at dealer outlets, TMC will display educational posters produced by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association for its own traffic safety campaign.

Additionally, during the campaign, there will be a children's traffic safety class at the TOYOTA Safety Education Center "mobilitas", which opened in April on the grounds of Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka Prefecture. The class will be for kindergarten students and parents from Oyama, the town in which the speedway is located.
