Toyota to Celebrate the 1930s with 2014 Classic Car Festival in Tokyo

Tokyo, Japan, October 22, 2014―The Toyota Automobile Museum will host a classic car festival at Meijijingu Gaien park in Shinjuku, Tokyo on November 29. The theme of this year's festival is "The 1930s: Before the Japanese Automobile Industry." Six cars from the museum's collection dating from this decade, which represents the point of conception for Japan's automobile industry, will be shown and driven in a special display.

In addition to an exhibition of cars from a variety of periods from the museum's collection, shortly after the festival begins there will be a crosstown parade featuring approximately 100 privately owned classic cars from around the world.

The annual Classic Car Festival in Jingu Gaien aims to promote and develop automobile culture and encourage interaction among car fans. To mark the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Toyota Automobile Museum, a number of changes have been made to the Classic Car Festival: the separate events held in Aichi Prefecture (spring) and Tokyo (autumn) now share the "Classic Car Festival" name, and the festival's logo has been redesigned. Two events have been added: the Classic Car Circuit and the Classic Car Studio.
