Toyota to Remodel Tokyo Vehicle Experience Facility

Toyota City, Japan, August 27, 2013―Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announces that it will remodel Mega Web, its vehicle experience and enjoyment facility in Tokyo's Odaiba waterfront area. The facility will temporarily close in September for the remodeling and reopen in early November 2013.

Planned improvements include the establishment of an indoor driving zone, a global discovery zone and a waku-doki zone. The new zones are being created with the goal of sharing car culture with visitors of all ages and nationalities. The central section of Mega Web's Ride One test course has recently been expanded and turned into a plaza to make it more suitable for car-related events and test drives. In addition, visitors will be able to ask questions about high-volume vehicles, with information being more easy-to-find than ever. A dedicated area will also be established to showcase specially equipped "Welcab" vehicles with factory-installed features for physically disabled individuals and the elderly.

Mega Web was opened in March 1999 as a facility where visitors could experience and enjoy vehicles and discover car culture. At Mega Web, visitors can learn about Toyota cars through exhibitions and test drives, and can also take part in go-kart races and view exhibitions of historic cars from around the world. Mega Web welcomed its 80 millionth visitor in September 2012.
