Special Exhibition Vehicles
F110―The F110 is an experimental vehicle developed in the process of exploring the direction in which luxury sedans are moving for the 1980s. Toyota engineers broke away from fixed concepts of the past in this vehicle's development and aimed at efficient design and ease of use of driving compartment space. The F110 has an extra-short nose and an extra-long cabin giving what is basically a small-size car the interior space of a larger vehicle. An asymmetrical 3-door structure (one sliding door on driver's side; combination of front conventional door and rear sliding door on passenger's side), which removes the door pillars and gives a total open-door effect, reflects Toyota efforts at increasing safety and driver-passenger convenience when boarding and alighting. A rear hatch door is also provided for easy access to the trunk.

CAL-1―The CAL-1 is a utility sports coupe developed for a wide range of uses, with emphasis on functions which make it especially fitting for recreation and other aspects of outdoor life. Its styling derives from aerodynamics, and a rear deck, made of teakwood, increases the vehicle's function by allowing various uses.
- In its in-place position, the rear deck can carry items such as bicycles, motorcycles, camping gear or other leisure-use apparatus. The space under the rear deck is luggage space.
- For rumble-seat motoring, the back window is raised and a section of the rear deck is pulled up to form a two-passenger seat.
- If the two sections of the rear deck are removed, the vehicle becomes a pickup truck for carrying furnishings, goods, etc.

All-Aluminum-Body Experimental Vehicle―In response to social calls for the conservation of energy and natural resources, automakers have been putting more importance on efforts into developing lighter weight vehicles and vehicles with improved fuel efficiency. This all-aluminum-body experimental vehicle is one result of the search by Toyota for weight reduction technology. Its development was guided by the principle of a minimum of consumption for a maximum of work, which originated in the Automobile Engineering Research Center, operated privately by Mr. Ryuichi Tomiya, advisor to Central Motor Company.
