TOYOTA ANNOUNCES FULL-MODEL CHANGE FOR
DYNA CAB-OVER TRUCK
Also Announces Improvements in Coaster Bus
TOKYO―Toyota Motor Company, Ltd., and Toyota Motor Sales Company, Ltd., today announced a full-model change in the Dyna, a light cab-over truck, as well as improved versions of the Coaster, a small-size bus. The new Dyna and the improved Coaster went on nationwide sale today.
The full-model change in the Dyna is the first in 8-1/2 years. The new Dyna has been completely improved in order to meet recent changes in market demands in the truck transport industry related to economy, rationalized operations, improvements in working conditions and multi-purpose uses.
In addition to new and forceful, original styling, a variety of other top-notch features make the Dyna a leader in its class. The new Dyna is easier to use and has improved diesel engine performance. Careful attention has also been paid to safety features, comfort and handling, and a tilt-cab has been added to make servicing more efficient.
Moreover, in order to satisfy the diversified market demands that have emerged, the Dyna series has been made more complete by including floorshift vehicles, a high-roof van and a "just-low" (super-low) bed version.
The improved Coaster, meanwhile, has had its front grille slightly restyled at the same time that improvements were made to its interior and its equipment. And two new types of engines―the Type 20R gasoline engine (2,189cc, 110ps), and the Type 2B diesel engine (3,168cc, 93ps)―have been utilized to raise output greatly. Not only have the Coaster's power, safety, comfort and handling features been improved, but in response to the increasingly diversified demands in the small-size bus market, models with a high-roof, a diesel cooler and so forth were added to the line.
Tentative monthly sales targets are 3,600 vehicles for the Dyna series, and 400 vehicles for the Coaster series.
