TOYOTA INTRODUCES NEW CARINA SURF

 

Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. and Toyota Motor Sales Co., Ltd. today announced a new addition to the Carina series, the Carina Surf station wagon, releasing two versions to go on sale nationwide in Japan.

  • Highlights of the Carina Surf
    1. Sporty Appearance
      A bold coupe-type front grille, protective side molding, and black-colored door sashes for a sleek silhouette, plus big, shock-absorbing urethane bumpers which give the Surf a sharp and sporty look.
    2. Toyota 1S Engine
      The Surf comes equipped with the lightweight, compact, high-performance, fuel-efficient 1S engine. The 1832 cc four-cylinder OHC 1S is a high performance powerplant delivering a maximum of 100 ps at 5400 rpm and maximum torque of 15.5 kg-m at 3400 rpm, and boasting fuel efficiency of 12.5 km/L (10-mode average, results of Ministry of Transport tests with five-speed manual transmission car).
    3. Elegant Interior with Plenty of Usable Space
      With front-to-back two-tone trim the Surf interior is luxurious and bright. The rear seat offers the space and comfort of sedan seating, and is divided into two partitions, either of which may be used for seating or folded down to maximize cargo area.
