TOYOTA ANNOUNCES PRODUCTION, DOMESTIC REGISTRATION AND
EXPORT RESULTS FOR DECEMBER 1984 AND FOR CALENDAR 1984
TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION today announced its production, domestic registration, and export results, as well as production and export figures for KD sets, for December 1984 and for calendar 1984.

- PRODUCTION

As a result of a firm trend in exports, total December production was 272,843 units, an increase of 4.7 percent from the same month of 1983 and the third consecutive month that production has been higher than that for the same month of the previous year.The production breakdown was 191,159 passenger cars, up 1.8 percent, and 81,684 buses and trucks, up 12.2 percent from December 1983.Production of KD sets, meanwhile, was 10,177 sets, down 19.8 percent from the same month last year.
- DOMESTIC REGISTRATIONS

Domestic registrations in December were 129,931 units, down 4.7 percent from December 1983. Although registrations of trucks were firm, those of passenger cars were down compared to December 1983.The breakdown of registrations was 103,446 passenger cars, down 6.6 percent, and 26,485 buses and trucks, up 3.3 percent.
- EXPORTS

Toyota exported a total of 159,292 units in December 1984, up 11.5 percent from the previous year.The breakdown of December exports was 92,637 passenger cars, up 7.7 percent, and 66,655 trucks and buses, up 17.3 percent.Exports of KD sets were 10,930 sets, down 41.6 percent compared to December 1983.

Total production for the year was 3,429,249 units, up 4.8 percent from 1983. The increase was due to favorable trends in both domestic registrations and exports.The production breakdown was 2,413,133 passenger cars, up 1.4 percent from 1983, and 1,016,116 trucks and buses, up 14.0 percent from 1983.Production of KD sets for the year was 152,397 sets, up 9.6 percent from 1983.

The total number of domestic registrations for 1984 was 1,624,009 units, up 1.6 percent from 1983, due principally to good registrations of passenger cars in the first half of the year.The breakdown was 1,274,910 passenger cars, up 2.2 percent from 1983, and 349,099 trucks and buses, down 0.6 percent from 1983.
- EXPORTS

Toyota exported a total of 1,800,923 units in 1984, up 8.2 percent from 1983. The breakdown was 1,100,353 passenger cars, up 2.9 percent, and 700,570 trucks and buses, up 17.7 percent.The breakdown by markets showed that although exports to the Middle East and Europe were at a low pace, those to Oceania and Africa shifted to an upward trend. Exports to Southeast Asia and North America also showed a favorable trend.Exports of KD sets during 1984 were 152,267 sets, up 9.8 percent from 1983.
