TOYOTA ANNOUNCES CONSOLIDATED BUSINESS
RESULTS FOR FISCAL 1983

 

TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION today announced its consolidated business results for fiscal year 1983 (July 1, 1982-June 30, 1983).

As one result of the merger of Toyota Motor Company and Toyota Motor Sales Company, the number of subsidiaries owned by Toyota Motor Corporation increased. In accordance with stipulations of the Securities and Exchange Law of Japan, therefore, the Corporation has issued this first business report on a consolidated basis. The report issued today, then, does not include a comparison with the previous fiscal year.

Results

The subsidiaries of Toyota Motor Corporation totalled 109 companies as of June 30, 1983. Of those, 16 companies were selected for inclusion in this consolidated report, based on criteria set by the Ministry of Finance.

Included in the 16 companies are 5 domestic subsidiaries (Tokyo Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., Tokyo Toyo-pet Motor Sales Co., Ltd., OSAKA TOYOPET Co., Ltd., TOYOTA TOKYO COROLLA Co., Ltd., and Arakawa Auto Body Co., Ltd.), 5 overseas subsidiaries (Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., Australian Motor Industries Ltd., Thiess Toyota Pty., Ltd., Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd., and Toyota Deutschland G.m.b.H.), 3 subsidiaries of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., and 3 subsidiaries of Australian Motor Industries Ltd.

The Equity Method has not been applied to the report.
