TOYOTA TO OPEN SERVICE TRAINING CENTERS IN BEIJING AND GUANGZHOU

Toyota City―Toyota Motor Corporation announced today that after a period of negotiations it has signed an agreement with the Chinese government to open motor vehicle service training centers in Beijing and Guangzhou. The two centers will be used to improve service for Toyota vehicles in China and are scheduled to open in October.

Toyota first established a service facility for Toyota vehicles in Beijing in July 1980, followed by a similar one in Guangzhou in March 1982. The new agreement is a result of Toyota's willingness to cooperate in setting up training centers inside those two facilities for the education of motor vehicle service personnel.

Specialist instructors will be sent from Toyota to the two centers in a cooperative effort to train about 300 persons a year from various parts of China to become automobile service technicians and parts control managers.

The following is a general outline of the two training centers.
