NEW HEADQUARTERS FOR TOYOTA TEAM EUROPE AND 1988 RALLY SCHEDULE

 

Toyota City―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION and its factory team, Toyota Team Europe (TTE), celebrated the opening of a new TTE headquarters in the suburbs of Koln, West Germany on Tuesday September 8. The new full-scale 4,640-square-meter facility will be used for development of new machines as well as rally car maintenance.

Toyota also decided to use a new Celica GT-FOUR (Group A Rally Car) in rallies throughout 1988. It is now under development, based on the Celica GT-FOUR that was introduced in Japan. It has full-time four-wheel drive and is equipped with a torque split-type center differential with a limited slip function. A list of the major specifications is attached.

With this vehicle, TTE intends to mainly enter World Rally Championship (WRC) races that take place in Europe. In 1988 TTE will participate in the following WRC races
