TOYOTA TECHNICAL CENTER OF EUROPE COMPLETED

 

Toyota City―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION has completed construction of the Toyota Technical Center of Europe in the suburbs of Brussels, Belgium, which began in April 1986. The completion ceremony was held today at 10 a.m. local time (5 p.m. Japan time).

Toyota decided to build a new technical center, move the testing facilities there and upgrade testing and technical development capabilities because Toyota's vehicle evaluation procedures, conducted until now at testing facilities connected with Toyota's Europe Office, required more space. Also, a design research center will be added on the same site in the near future.

To mark the completion of the new Center, Toyota donated a Hiace minibus, specially-equipped for the physically handicapped, to a local welfare institution.
