TOYOTA TO OPEN MIDDLE EAST SERVICE TRAINING CENTER

Toyota City―In a move to strengthen its high-tech servicing capabilities in the Middle East, TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION announced today that it will open a new service training center in Bahrain. Construction of the Toyota Service Training Centre (provisional name) is under way at a 3,880m2 site in the outskirts of Manama and is scheduled to be completed in early 1990.

The center, which calls for an investment of $3.4 million, will provide training in the latest vehicle technologies and diagnostic skills to technicians of Toyota's distributors and fleet owners in the region. With a total floor space of 1,440m2, the center will be equipped with a workshop and lecture room for service training, along with the latest facilities, diagnostic equipment, and training materials for today's sophisticated automobiles. Included will be chassis dynamometer and fuel-injection pump test facilities, as well as electronic diagnosis equipment, engine analyzer, four-wheel alignment tester, tire uniformity machine, audio-visual equipment, and other state-of-the-art equipment.

In recent years, electronics and other new high-tech equipment in automobiles have brought about the need for higher levels of knowledge and skills in vehicle servicing and diagnosis. Toyota hopes the new center will help meet this need and at the same time further improve the company's service training capabilities in the Middle East.
