FULL-TIME 4WD MODELS
JOIN COROLLA AND SPRINTER LINES

Toyota City―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION today added full-time 4-wheel drive models to its recently revamped Corolla and Sprinter lines. Introduced are a 1600cc gasoline-type Corolla and a 2000cc diesel-type Sprinter―both sedans.

The full-time 4WD models employ either viscous coupling, electronic-controlled hydraulic multiplate clutch, or mechanical lock-type center differential control, depending on powertrain packages.

In addition, the Corolla enjoys increased output from its new 1600cc 4A-FE power plant, and both models feature new dual-link-strut independent rear suspension for a smoother, more stable ride.

Domestic sales for the two models are expected to reach 2,300 units monthly, with Corolla accounting for 1,500 units and Sprinter the remaining 800.
