NEW TOYOTA MOTOR KYUSHU PLANT HOLDS OPENING CEREMONY
Toyota City―TOYOTA MOTOR KYUSHU, INC. (president: Katsuro Nakamura; head office: #1 O-aza Kamiaruki Aza-Hirayama, Miyata-cho, Kurate-gun, Fukuoka 823) recently celebrated the completion of its Miyata Plant. The events were held at the plant site and at a hotel in the city of Fukuoka.
The events marked the completion of preparations for the full-scale production of the new Mark II at the plant.
Preparations began in late December and production reached full capacity in mid-February with an output of 100,000 cars per year.
Ceremonial rites were held at the body plant, and guests toured the state-of-the-art production lines at the body, press, and assembly plants.
Guests included Hachiji Okuda, governor of Fukuoka Prefecture, Tatsuo Kawai, chairman of Kyushu-Yamaguchi Economic Federation, Shoichiro Toyoda, chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation, and Tatsuro Toyoda, president of Toyota Motor Corporation. Some 1,000 representatives of business partners and suppliers who were involved in the plant construction, facilities, and parts installation were invited to the events, which were a great success.
