TOYOTA TO DISPLAY CONCEPT CAR AT FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW

Tokyo―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION announced today that it will display its concept car, the Toyota Raum, at the Frankfurt Motor Show, to be held in Germany from Thursday, September 9 through Sunday, September 19.

The Toyota Raum is a front-engine, front-wheel drive, two-door sedan that offers compact size, allowing it to make tight turns, and a spacious interior for superior comfort. Its flat floor and electric-powered sliding doors provide wide access, passenger comfort, and convenience. The accelerator and brake control systems as well as the position of the gear shift are controlled electronically. The drive-by-wire system has led to outstanding driveability.

The Toyota Raum is mounted with a new lean-burn engine, the development of which is still under way. The car is also designed for greater energy conservation for environmental protection and for maximum peripheral visibility so as to enhance safety.
