Toyota Unveils New U.S.-Made Scepter Coupe
Tokyo―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION announced today that it will import and market the Scepter Coupe, a new model manufactured by Toyota Motor Manufacturing, U.S.A., Inc. in Georgetown, Kentucky. This right-hand-drive, two-door vehicle is the second American-made Toyota produced for Japan following the introduction of the Scepter Wagon (Camry Wagon in the U.S.) in September 1992.
As part of its efforts to sell foreign-made vehicles in Japan, Toyota has marketed Volkswagen and Audi cars since April 1992 through its DUO outlets. The Scepter Coupe will be available through Toyota Corolla and Vista dealers from November 18 with a monthly sales target of 300 units.

Exterior Styling and Interior Standard Equipment
The exterior design is wide and sporty, with rear quarter-panels creating a sense of fluidity with the roofline.
Among major standard items installed on all models are a microprocessor-controlled automatic air conditioner and an eight-speaker, 120W Scepter Live Sound System. -
Engine Options
The coupe is available with either a 2.2-liter, in-line, four-cylinder (5S-FE) engine, or 3.0-liter V6 (3VZ-FE) engine. (Refer to attached specifications sheet for details.)

Chassis
The four-wheel independent suspension system uses front MacPherson struts and rear dual-link struts for greater riding comfort and driving stability.
