Toyota Opens Technical Center, China
Tokyo―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION announced today that it held the opening ceremony for the Toyota Technical Center, China at the Tianjin Sheraton Hotel. Guests attending the ceremony included Director Cui Shi-Xin, Ministry of Machine Building and Electronics Industry.
The technical center was established in January in Tianjin, China, by companies from the Toyota Group, including Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. Its purpose is to foster technical transfer of the full range of automobile technology, including mass production, manufacturing, and product development, as well as to cooperate in the development of China's automobile and auto parts industry.
The opening ceremony also marked the completion of all preparations for the Center's operation since its establishment in January, including assignment of personnel from Japan.
