Full Model Changes for Dyna, Toyoace, and Hiace Trucks
New Engines Provide Outstanding Power and Fuel Economy
Tokyo―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION announced today full model changes to its small cab-over-engine trucks―the Dyna and Toyoace, both with a 1.25- to 3.50-ton* capacity, and the Hiace, with a 1.00- to 1.25-ton* capacity.
These changes have been implemented to achieve dramatic advances in basic truck performance and in interior and exterior design, thereby developing new-generation trucks that are both easy to use and friendly to the environment. The new models also offer greater "value for money" by minimizing price increases.

Principal Features of the New Models
- Dramatically improved running performance and engine lineup
- Exterior design emphasizing functionality and smarter looks
- Functional, comfortable cabin and larger, more durable deck
- Greater latitude for customization and easier maintenance
- More attention to safety and the environment
In addition to full model changes, the Quick Delivery models designed as urban delivery vehicles have undergone minor exterior changes and increased engine capacity.
- Overview
- The engine lineup has been upgraded with four newly developed engines that provide greater acceleration and braking performance, extra riding comfort, and outstanding controllability and stability. The suspension and driving systems have also been enhanced.EnginesThe improved engine lineup achieves both greater power and fuel economy. The largest engine is the J05C, a 5.3-liter direct-injection diesel engine, and all these Diesel engines have been designed to meet the latest exhaust emission standards―especially the new four-valve 4.1-liter and 5.3-liter engines, which deliver greater power and torque. The direct-injection 15B-F engine, which meets regulations conforming to the Law Regarding Motor Vehicle Nitrogen Oxides, is provided on models equipped with an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) device. The new 2.7-liter 3RZ-FE gasoline engine uses a four-valve, twin-cam mechanism for greater power and a balanced shaft for lower vibration and noise. The 2.7-liter 3RZ-FP LPG engine has been mounted on base models to ensure better economy than a gasoline engine and lower NOx emission than a diesel engine.

ExteriorExterior design has been revamped to create a smarter look that blends in better with the urban landscape and to accentuate functionality. The grand new cab is similar to that of a 4.0-ton truck and features a spacious cabin and deck space to expand cab variations.Standard and wide cabs feature front panels with rounded, more aerodynamic corners to protect the side windows from mud and to lend the look of a wider, more open, more road-hugging vehicle.CabinThe cabin provides greater functionality and riding comfort. For both standard and wide cabs, changes have been introduced to increase driver vision, visibility, and user-friendliness, minimizing fatigue. Apart from motorized outer mirrors, the grand cab offers riding comfort that is top in its class. The driver's seat includes adjustable seat belt anchors and a 31° reclining angle.DeckA completely new design has been introduced, with larger wooden decks and greater durability.CustomizationThe trucks have been designed to allow greater latitude in customization, as outlined below. Toyota has also upgraded its Toyota Easy Carry System (TECS) for special-purpose vehicles, particularly vans.MaintenanceDaily inspection and maintenance has been made much easier by providing easier cab tilt operation and a trouble-free stay mechanism. Changes have also been made to the shift lever installation. Changes to the front panel and upper garnish make equipment easier to inspect. The open/close front panel for the grand cab series improve inspection for seven items, including the window washer tank and wiper motor and link. Relay fuses have been centralized under the glove compartment and a seat-folding system is added for easy access to the tool kit in the rear.Safety and Environmental ConsiderationsThe new models have been designed to meet social requirements for safety and environmental conservation. The outer mirror has been made wider, greater mirror curve implemented, and new cornering lamps installed to increase the range of indirect vision. Instrument visibility has been increased and pedal, switch, and lever control made easier. Seats have been designed to minimize fatigue. Modified suspension increases running stability, and an upgraded braking system provides outstanding braking performance. Thermoplastic resin used for front steps ensures greater recyclability, and cleaner, more fuel-efficient engines conform to the latest emission regulations. The steel deck has been reinforced to reduce the use of tropical timber.
- Quick Delivery Models
- With the latest minor changes, the Dyna Quick Delivery and Toyoace Quick Delivery have been renamed the Quick Delivery 200, and the Hiace Quick Delivery is now the Quick Delivery 100. Engine displacement has been increased and compliance to the latest emission requirements ensured, while driver visibility has been improved. The exterior is further refined with a wider, lower window for the front passenger seat, and a new radiator grille design.
