Toyota Inaugurates Santa Rosa Plant in the Philippines

Tokyo―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC) announced that a formal opening ceremony was held today for the second plant of Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP), TMC's vehicle production base in the Philippines.

Guests at the ceremony included Philippine Vice President Joseph Estrada and Mrs. Amelita M. Ramos, the First Lady. Also in attendance were TMC Vice Chairman Iwao Isomura and TMP President Hirotaka Tsuruga.

The Santa Rosa Plant began car production in January, with an annual production capacity of 25,000 units, raising TMP's total annual production capacity to 60,000 units. Efforts currently underway to increase production capacity call for an investment of ¥6.4 billion.
