Toyota Establishes International Advisory Board

 

Tokyo―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC) announced today that it has decided to establish an International Advisory Board to assist in belter coordinating TMC's operations with changes in the international economic and social environment.

As TMC expands its businesses worldwide, it becomes increasingly important to bring its operations into harmony with the various economies and societies of each market. The new advisory board will be able to provide TMC with suggestions and guidance from an international point of view concerning how Toyota, as a global corporation, should best confront the crucial issues of the 21st century.

Specifically, the International Advisory Board will consist of approximately 10 prominent figures from various Western and Asian countries. They will be able to discuss frankly with top Toyota management major global concerns such as energy management and environmental conservation, as well as changes in the world economy, and the best course of action for Toyota.

Eight well respected members of the international community are currently planning to attend the advisory board meeting, while several others are still under consideration. The first meeting is scheduled to be held this autumn in Japan.
