Automobile Theme Park Gets Name―"Mega Web"
New Hands-On Facility to Open in March
Tokyo―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC) announced today the official name of the automobile theme park it has been constructing at the Tokyo Waterfront since May. The name "Mega Web"* was chosen to indicate TMC's hope that the facility will serve as a base for a major communications network between customers and the company.
Mega Web is located within Palette Town, a new theme city developed jointly with other businesses in the ST Block of the Tokyo Waterfront. Toyota's facility is scheduled to open next March.
Mega Web is intended to stimulate interest in automobiles by showing the excitement of owning a car through actual experience. The facilities comprise three pavilions based on the themes of "past, present, and future" and two riding courses.
In addition to exhibits of TMC's entire vehicle lineup and historical cars, the facilities also allow visitors to "see, touch, and ride" through test rides on the courses, virtual drives, ride attractions, and a driving school.
