Toyota Automobile Museum Seeks to Spark Young Imaginations

Toyota City, Japan, June 17, 2015―From police cars and ambulances to delivery trucks and forklifts, some vehicles have always been a hit with kids. That's why the latest exhibit at the Toyota Automobile Museum (Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture) is aimed squarely at the young (and the young-at-heart). Running from July 18 to November 8, the exhibit will feature a variety of emergency and special-purpose vehicles, as well as hands-on workshops and professional demonstrations.

Young visitors to the museum will receive Japanese and English activity books, describing in a fun, relatable way the roles and functions of the six vehicles on display and the people who use them. There will also be special demonstrations featuring some the vehicles.

In addition, arts and crafts workshops will be held in July and August, with participants able to make their own plastic Toyota 2000GT or an air-powered car.

Throughout the duration of the exhibit, the second floor gallery of the museum's main building will be hosting a photography display called "Building Roads." Meanwhile, at the library on the third floor of the annex, children can play connect-the-dots with drawings of some of the cars on show.

As an extra incentive, admission to the museum will be free for elementary school students from July 11 to August 30.
