The 2012 Camry sports sophisticated restyling that enhances its presence and further improves the vehicle's renowned spacious interior, excellent handling, cruising stability and quiet ride.  The vehicle comes in three powertrain versions: 2.5-liter in-line four-cylinder, 3.5-liter V6, and 2.5-liter in-line four-cylinder gasoline-electric hybrid. All have improved fuel efficiency over their corresponding predecessors, with the 2012 "Camry Hybrid" in particular achieving a 30% increase with a U.S. EPA-estimated city fuel-economy rating of 43 mpg*.

As part of the launch event series, a line-off ceremony was held in Georgetown at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc.  At the ceremony, TMC President Akio Toyoda said: "When I think about Toyota's commitment in America, I think about the Camry made here in Kentucky. With more than 80 percent of the parts from American suppliers, we are proud of this car and the people behind it. We will continue to build great cars like the Camry with an even greater dedication to quality, safety and customer care."

Since the Camry was launched in the U.S. in 1983, it has been highly praised for its outstanding quality, its reliability and its comfortable ride.  The Camry, established as the benchmark of medium-sized sedans, has sold more than 14 million units worldwide as of the end of 2010.

Toyota is committed to continuing to develop vehicles that customers are proud to own, based on its founding philosophy of contributing to society through the manufacture of automobiles.
