Impact of Floods on Toyota Production in Thailand

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) sends its sincerest condolences to all those affected by the recent catastrophic flooding in Thailand.

TMC's sales and production company in Thailand, Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd. (TMT), produces vehicles at its Samrong, Gateway, and Ban Pho plants.  As of now, the recent flooding has had no direct impact on these plants or their employees; however, some suppliers are experiencing delays in supplying parts.

As a result of the parts-supply delays, a decision was first made to halt production at TMT's three plants from October 10 through October 151.  Today, TMT decided to extend the halt from October 172 through October 22.

Currently, recovery efforts are being made on a company-wide basis, based on a close observation of the supply chain situation.

A decision on production at the plants from October 24 onwards will be based on a close observation of the situation as it develops.

1Originally scheduled for morning-shift production only
2No production was scheduled for October 16
