Toyota Exhibits New Corolla Verso at Geneva Show
Tokyo ―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC), at the 74th Geneva International Motor Show, in Geneva, Switzerland, unveiled today the new Corolla Verso, which is scheduled for launch in Europe in May this year.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey Inc. (TMMT), Toyota’s vehicle production company in Turkey, is to begin production of the new Corolla Verso this month.
At this year’s Geneva show, held at the Geneva Paloexpo convention center from today to March 14, the Toyota booth is also featuring the MTRC (Motor Triathlon Race Car) and Fine-N concept cars, as well a cutaway display of the Prius.
The luxury RX400h hybrid SUV and the new GS luxury sports sedan―both scheduled to be introduced to the European market―are being exhibited at the Lexus booth.
Also, immediately before the start of the show, Toyota announced the expansion of its R&D structure in Europe. Plans call for a further investment of 75 million euros (approx. 10 billion yen at 135 yen to the euro) in the Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing Europe s.a/n.v. (TMEM) Technical Center located in Zaventum on the outskirts of Brussels, Belgium, and for the construction of new buildings specifically for design and evaluation, along with the hiring of 200 new employees.
