    To establish a structure that enables regions to take the initiative, as well as to strengthen medium-to-long term planning functions for TMC and its subsidiaries throughout the world, with the aim to practically implement operations in each region with a more market-oriented approach

Purpose:
    To advance the planning of attractive products that better meets consumer needs and carry out operations under the direction of the chief officer

Purpose:
    To achieve more efficient operational management

    To ensure name (in Japanese language) better reflects division's operations and responsibilities

    To reorganize with a focus on functions; to improve human-resource training and streamline operations
C. Changes in Japan and Overseas Operations
Objectives:
  • To reorganize so that regional headquarters are in charge of their respective regions
  • To position regions without regional headquarters into the Middle East, Southwest Asia Sales and Marketing Div., Africa Div., Latin America and Caribbean Div.

Purpose:

D. Changes in Technology

The R&D Management Center has been divided up according to its functions and some divisions reorganized into the Product Development Group.

Purpose:
  -  To advance the planning of product line-ups that better meet consumer needs, and to advance the development of increasingly complex cutting edge technology, while also having operations carried out under the direction of the chief officer
  -  To combine management functions including cost estimation with functions within vehicle development centers for further improving products
''Groups'' and ''Fields''


Purpose:
    To enhance the development capabilities of control systems by reorganizing structures according to roles for all the processes within them, from advanced development to design and evaluation

Purpose:
    To standardize automotive software and establish widespread use of such software
''Groups'' and ''Fields''


Purpose:
    To streamline the decision-making process through a reconsideration of the responsibilities (and position) of groups

As a result of the above changes, the number of divisions has increased from 251 to 254.
