TMC to Hold 30th Toyota Lobby Concert
Tokyo, Japan―Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announces that, as part of its social contribution activities, it will hold its 30th Toyota Lobby Concert on July 29 in the first-floor lobby of its Tokyo Head Office in Koraku, Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo.
The concert will feature singer-songwriter Uri Nakayama, who plays both accordion and trumpet in her performances.
The Toyota Lobby Concert, held since 1995, aims to provide people in nursing care facilities near the TMC Tokyo Head Office as well as nearby residents with an opportunity to enjoy a quality live musical performance. Volunteers from TMC, with the assistance of the local community, organize the concerts.
At the concert, members of the Toyota Volunteer Center will accept redeemable items, such as used stamps and telephone cards, donated by attendees. The proceeds gained from these donations are to be used to support the education of children in Thailand and Laos, and to help provide medicine, improve living conditions and foster human resources in developing nations.
TMC will provide 400 complimentary tickets to residents of local nursing care facilities and the general public. Those wishing to receive tickets should apply in line with the instructions in the table. Tickets will be sent to successful applicants by mail around July 20.

Uri Nakayama released her debut single in 2006 through Apple Inc.'s Japanese iTunes Store, a music and video download website. Both her following albums released on the site reached number one on the site's jazz chart and even made the top ten of the site's general music chart. This sensational entry onto the music scene has led some to dub her "Cinderella with an accordion". Her debut CD, released in 2007, features an exquisite blend of gypsy swing, musette, tango, zydeko, and other forms of accordion music from around the world, resulting in a unique sound that has entranced listeners regardless of age or gender.
