Toyota City―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION is introducing full model changes for its 85 models of 1-3 ton engine-powered, pneumatic tire forklifts for the first time in eight years.
The new models are to be marketed nationwide from August 28.
The 1-3 ton types are the most popular in the forklift market. The full model changes reflect the recent trend of more diversified and sophisticated customer demands.
Features of this new series include the following
- High-performance, high-output and fuel-economical industrial vehicle engines―the 1Z (a direct-injection diesel engine) and the 4Y (a gasoline engine) which have been newly developed using Toyota's state-of-the-art technology.
- A low vibration level comparable to passenger cars' realized by the first-ever use for this class of vehicle of a full-floating power train.
- A low noise level achieved by the use of the fully sealed engine hood together with the reduction of noise from the engine itself.
Wide-ranging studies into the ergonomics of the driving posture, instrument positions, design of seats, riding comfort and forward vision were fully utilized to realize the best driving position, one that offers greatly improved accommodation and ease of operation. The utmost care has been taken to ensure safety and serviceability through the use of a toggle-type parking brake, a centralized meter, gauge and indicator unit, and the engine hood with damper stay to reduce the force needed to open the hood.
With these features, the new 1-3 ton series shows a great improvement over the current models in every aspect, including engine performance, accommodation, ease of operation, economy, reliability, safety and serviceability.
