TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION TO HOLD OPENING CEREMONIES
FOR SERVICE TRAINING CENTERS IN BEIJING AND GUANGZHOU

Toyota City―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION reached agreement in August this year with the Beijing Motor Service Company and the China Automotive Industry Nanfang Trade Corporation on setting up service training centers in Beijing and Guangzhou to improve after-sales service for Toyota vehicles in China.

Preparations have since been going ahead to begin operation of the centers. Opening ceremonies for the Guangzhou Service Training Center and Beijing Service Training Center will be held on Friday, November 22 and on Tuesday, November 26, respectively, attended by Executive Vice President Kiyoshi Matsumoto.

Toyota Motor Corporation set up a service center in Beijing in July 1980 and in Guangzhou in March 1982 to provide after-sales service for Toyota vehicles. About 10,000 cars annually (1984) are serviced at these centers. Because the number of Toyota cars in China has increased, the new training centers have been set up within each service station to train service staff and thus further improve after-sales service.

The new service training centers for authorized Toyota service stations, (10 stations at present), will train instructors, and educate mechanics and parts controllers and give management training. Toyota Motor Corporation will provide the materials and equipment required and send service engineers to conduct the training.

About 200 service staff annually will receive training at the centers on car maintenance, parts control and other areas.
