TOYOTA HELPS SET UP MECHANIC TRAINING CENTER IN CHINA
Toyota City―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION announced today that a mechanic training center it helped set up in China recently opened in the city of Shenyang northwest of Beijing.
Chinese National Automobile Industry Toyota Gold Cup Skilled Worker Training Center, as the school is known, was formed by the China National Automobile Industry Corporation and Shenyang's Gold Cup Automobile Corporation Limited, in cooperation with Toyota, to train people for China's automobile industry in the future. It is a full-scale automobile mechanic training center for five job categories, including lathe machining, milling, machine assembly, machine maintenance, and mold production.
The target is middle school graduates wishing to work in the automobile manufacturing industry after completion of their studies. A total of 100 trainees, 20 in each discipline, will be accepted each year for the three-year program of specialized and general training.
To open the center, Toyota supplied equipment and teaching materials and provided training for Chinese instructors in Japan. It plans to continue supporting the center in the future, including sending Japanese instructors to help teach.
