KANKKUNEN WINS THE 1993 WRC DRIVER'S TITLE

Tokyo TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION announced today that Toyota Team Europe driver, Juha Kankkunen, won the 1993 WRC Driver's Title. Kankkunen's third-place finish today in the Catalonia Rally (round 12 of the WRC) assured his fourth WRC Driver's Title, making him the top title-holder in WRC history.

With a victory in the Australia Rally (round 10) in September, Toyota was the first Japanese carmaker to win the manufacturers' championship in the WRC. This means that Toyota has achieved a double title: the manufacturer's and driver's titles.
