TOYOTA MOTOR THAILAND REACHES
1,000,000 UNIT PRODUCTION MARK

Tokyo―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION announced today that cumulative output at its manufacturing base in Thailand, Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd. (TMT), reached 1,000,000 vehicles, making it the first automobile manufacturing plant in the ASEAN region to reach the one million unit milestone.

TMT is the fifth Toyota overseas manufacturing plant to reach the 1,000,000 unit production mark, following Toyota South Africa Motors (Pty.) Ltd. (TSAM) in 1986, New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc. (NUMMI) in 1991, Toyota Motor Corporation Australia Ltd. (TMCA) in 1992, and Toyota Motor Manufacturing, U.S.A., Inc. in 1993 (TMM).

Since the lineoff of the first Dyna in 1964, TMT has been steadily expanding production, including the startup in 1969 of the Hilux sport utility vehicle, the plant's current flagship model.

The company commenced production of the Corona at its new Gateway Plant this February. Combined with the existing Samrong Plant, this raises total production capacity at TMT to 200,000 units a year. TMT thus has the capacity to increase production in step with the rapid growth in the Thai market that is expected in the near future.
