TOYOTA'S CUMULATIVE JAPANESE CAR PRODUCTION HITS 80 MILLION

Tokyo―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION celebrated the production of it's 80 millionth Japanese car today, one month and 58 years after the date that the Toyota Motor Corporation, then the Automobile Department of the Toyoda Automatic Loom Works, Ltd., completed its first truck, the G-l. The line-off ceremony commemorating this record was carried out at its Motomachi Plant site today.

The production of 80 million units was achieved 58 years and one month after August 1935, the date when Toyota Motor Corp. (then the Automobile Department of Toyoda Automatic Loom Works, Ltd.) completed its first truck, the G-l. It occurred two years and seven months after the achievement of total production of 70 million units.
