Development of High-Functionality Pavement "MultiPave^TM" and Construction of Full-Scale MockupVerifying the workability of a new pavement structure that enables rapid and easy upgrades to road infrastructure

Toyota Motor Corporation's Frontier Research Center, in collaboration with Obayashi Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Toshimi Sato), Toyota Central R&D Labs., Inc. (headquartered in Nagakute, Aichi, Director and CRO: Takashi Shimazu), and Obayashi Road Corporation (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Hiromitsu Abiko), has developed a high-functionality pavement called "MultiPave" that can be upgraded to meet the changing needs of urban areas and road infrastructure. A full-scale mockup was constructed at Obayashi Corporation's Technical Research Institute in Kiyose, Tokyo, to verify its workability.
