Today, Toyota has confirmed that a male full-time employee in his 20's engaged in engineer work at its Toyota City headquarters location, based in Aichi Prefecture, Japan has been found to be infected with COVID-19. The employee in question has not come in to work since reporting having a fever on Wednesday July 15. After seeing a doctor on July 16, he took the COVID-19 virus test on July 20, which returned positive today. Currently, he is staying home to recover.
Toyota have immediately and thoroughly disinfected the affected work sites on July 17 and resumed operation shortly afterwards. Also, under the guidance of local health authorities, we are currently identifying individuals which had close contact with him.
