Located on the ocean, Yamashita Pier offers the wide-open spaces you'll only find in a port town. Caressed by the scent of the ocean and calm sea breezes, Yokohama's memories of yesteryear, when it welcomed incoming ships as a place of enlightenment, still live and breathe here today.

About the venue

Iconic Showa-era architecture with no columns

Yamashita Pier Shed No.4 contributed to the development of Yokohama and Japanese logistics during the period of high economic growth after World War II during reconstruction. The truss construction, an iconic Showa-era building technique, resulted in a massive indoor space with no columns. Even today, long after it has served its purpose as a logistics hub, it exudes an amazing presence.

Cultural Activities Connecting with Society

As a mobility company that supports society, the TOYOTA GROUP not only provides means of transportation but also seeks to move people emotionally-touching their hearts and bringing them joy.

To create spaces that inspire both emotional and physical "MOVE," we have opened our dealerships and office buildings to orchestras and artists, transforming them into concert halls and creative canvases.

Building on these efforts, this autumn we opened TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO in the Aomi-Odaiba area. Harnessing the power of mobility, it aims to become a new kind of destination for sports and music unlike any other.

In winter 2025, THE MOVEUM, a new cultural and educational facility centered on art, will open in Yokohama.

Through cutting-edge mobility experiences and rich cultural encounters that inspire both intellect and emotion, we will deliver entirely new ways to "move" people.
