The Tohoku region, which is working to recover from the Great East Japan Earthquake, is a very important region for Toyota. Toyota has the strong desire to contribute to recovery efforts using its technologies. Therefore, in areas such as Fukushima Prefecture, Toyota is working on a variety of initiatives to support recovery efforts. These initiatives include the creation of a new city of the future by constructing a hydrogen utilization model using Fukushima-developed hydrogen and technology as well as positioning the prefecture as a base for the research and development of carbon neutral fuels.
