The Alphard and Vellfire have come to express an imposing yet elegant feeling unique to Japan. To evolve on this inherent DNA, I used large three-dimensional elements that this car makes possible, to express a dynamic feeling with the whole car. I look forward to as many customers as possible finding this a car to love.

Hisataka Tokizane

Offering a complete model change for a popular vehicle is difficult and distressing. Like a puzzle, I had to think, contemplate, and assemble these concepts such as "Flagship," "One and Only," and "Evolution."
As a result, I can confidently say that I managed to create a great design that will be loved for a long time by drivers and passengers.

The Alphard is known for its rear cabin space. To evolve that into a space that provides the peak of hospitality for guests in this 4th generation, I took on the challenge of creating a bold color scheme that integrates functional components beginning from the distinctive pillar. The resulting private jet-like environment is pretty cool.

My goal was to invite the customer to a new, impressive experience. the yacht-inspired design of the space around the front seats expresses high quality and inspires a sense of pride in the owner. I was especially particular about the appearance of the leather and how the stitches are sewn. I want customers to get excited the moment they open the door.

The Alphard is all about luxurious seats, and it has the most available types of all Toyota models. In comparison to other cars, our team members at Toyota Boshoku had 10 times more work to do, were 100 times more passionate, and put in 1000 times more energy into developing the seats, so they radiate a special aura. Please sit, touch, and sleep on them. You're sure to be impressed.

"Especially for this car," is the idea I focused on. I wanted to produce an exceptional atmosphere through color, material, and finish. Exquisitely detailed Precious Colors are available for the Alphard, while the Vellfire offers jet-black chrome to enhance its uniqueness. The interior feel and color schemes differ depending on the trim.

2 years before the start of the actual project, during the advanced research phase, we explored ideas no other company could do. We challenged ourselves to create a sense of massive dimensionality that starts at the tip of the hood and all the way through the rear. Like the previous model, I took on the role of chief modeler, and I take pride in it as a great achievement in my career.
