We aimed to create a design that combines a sophisticated sense of dignity within an elegant silhouette by incorporating Japanese aesthetics into the guiding idea of a "majestic and awe-inspiring" car.

What should a next generation chauffeur car be like? The design concept was "awe-inspiring" and as a team, we pushed ourselves to embody a Japanese aesthetic and express the "Century-ness" passed down for generations in this car. Teamwork and the power of design are at the core of this car's strength.
Shota Asano
I have wanted to be part of the Century design team ever since I started working for Toyota. I was super nervous whenever I sketched, worked on the clay model, or drew a single line. It made me happy to be able to create a beautiful yet strong-looking shape that inherited the characteristics of the door cross section from its predecessors. I'll never forget this project because of all the support I got from the other team members and so many other people.
Soto Shirouzu
When I was designing the front acrylic grille, I struggled with the trigonometric table which I hadn't used since high school. I made intuitive refinements to the design as I went back and forth between the model and the 3D data. I hope drivers enjoy all the expressions it shows in the different ways it reflects light.
Shinya Minagawa
Being part of the Century development team, Toyota's flagship model, is probably a once in a lifetime experience in my career as a modeler. I applied all the clay modelling skills I had, and enjoyed the experience despite all the pressure I was under. Now that all the tension is gone, I'm filled with a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
Takeru Tanaka
The first thing that came to mind is "This will be a huge responsibility." I was filled with both a sense of apprehension and anticipation as I imagined how this car would be used. I enjoyed the challenge of creating an awe-inspiring design in the digital realm as I went through the rounds of trial and error.
Shin Numoto
I was very particular about the quality of the interior material. I devoted myself to designing the passenger-focused rear seat area, which is filled with a Japanese sense of reserved hospitality. I aimed to create a pleasing environment for the customer, whether it would be used as a chauffeur car or a private one. I hope you can actually see and touch each component and feel the passion I put into it.
Takaaki Katou
What should the view from the rear passenger seats be like?
I had to develop concepts that were new to me, like the way the upper surface of the instrument panel blends with the scenery or driving controls that minimize the driver's movements as not to disturb the rear passenger. I hope our customers feel the craftsmanship unique to limited production cars.
Yutaro Yamamoto
What is appropriate for the interior of a Japanese chauffeur car? We team members worked together to devise intelligent and ingenious solutions aiming to create the highest quality rear environment. It's an interior that offers great satisfaction, empathizing with the occupants to offer solutions such as intuitive, easy to use functions from the moment you sit down. Please experience it for yourself.
Hideyuki Kondo
To more beautifully achieve the designers' ideas while overcoming requirements for quality and functionality as an industrial product, I worked closely with the designers and teammates, worrying, thinking, and repeatedly making changes and corrections to the model together.
Soyoka Ige
I used carefully selected colors and materials to create a special car with bespoke tailoring and a Japanese aesthetic worthy of the Century lineage. I think we were able to express a delicate beauty that resonates with the senses with the decorative embroidery in particular. I hope many people will experience the Century's first-class hospitality.
